Image Optimization for your Website

Good day! 🌞 For all of you DIYers that build your own websites:

Did you know that images can slow down your website if they are not optimized?

The last thing you want is a potential customer getting frustrated from waiting on your website to load and going to a competitor’s website instead.

Image optimization is a process of saving and delivering images in the smallest possible file size without reducing the overall image quality. To increase your website’s page speed, make sure to save images as and use the following image formats below:

🔸️If your image requires animation, use a GIF
🔸️If you don’t need to preserve high image resolution, use JPEG (and test out different compression settings)
🔸️If you do need to preserve high image resolution, use PNG
🔸️If your image has a lot of colors, use PNG-24
🔸️If your image doesn’t have a lot of colors, use PNG-8

Feel free to contact me if you should have any questions while building your website!
